Perhaps they could allow adjusting of the Preview Quality (for example, in a competitor product, there is an ability to select much lower quality Preview output but this allows Previewing of even applied Effects much more smoothly).

Perhaps it is something with Windows 10 (which I recently upgraded to)? I'm still investigating/Troubleshooting this one.

I tried setting the Project Properties and Proxy to match and it was still choppy in the Preview.

All imported material is usually 1080p AVC/AAC.

I even made Proxies of 320x240 resolution and still it did nothing for the Preview performance. On a Personal Note, I scoured the Forums for all past posts and tried everything, for the Preview problem. I hate to say it because I don't doubt many others have already:īut competitor 'pro-sumer' level editing products already have most of the above - especially the Preview that isn't super-duper-pooper-choppy.I wonder why VSP can't be as smooth as other products for Previewing (the loss of quality in the Preview is understandable)?

On another note, the optimization for the WMV capture is great - the Quality for it is fantastic! (30fps is good enough for Tutorials and Business-related material, but for games and other fast-motion material, it ends up looking quite choppy when compared to a screen recorder capable of 60fps+ capture). (but with just the regular 2D Titles, it was 'normal' Rendering time) I personally found that if I added a few NewBlueTitler text elements, my rendering time took 8 hours for a 3-minute project. (poor little VS is the slowest in many reviews online) (and it is very slow/choppy with only a few effects - the final rendering comes out fine of course)

for some reason, the CLIP playback mode is GPU-accelerated but the PROJECT playback mode is not GPU-accelerated. (the waveform is nice in Mixing Mode for now) (perhaps a toggle so users don't accidentally do it - moving those teeny control nodes in Mixing Mode requires a magnifying glass ) (can be worked around by doing the task with filters for now (and NewBlueTitler), but the ability to simply choose two colours to fill 2D text would be nice) (many were included with Packs found on the Website, which was nice) (this can be worked around by pre/re-rendering over and over, for now) I am loving x8 so far, but I already see a few items I can contribute:
